La band nasce ufficialmente nell’ottobre 2007 ed è influenzata da numerosi gruppi inglesi caratterizzati da sonorità principalmente indie-rock, con inevitabili richiami al Brit Pop targato anni ‘90.
Questi ultimi due anni sono stati contraddistinti da un lavoro intenso nella cura dei pezzi inediti, piuttosto eterogenei tra loro, ma attraversati da un filo conduttore comune che è l’anima dei the woodlands.
Il gruppo propone canzoni con un buon tiro (vedi Only coffee please, Welcome to Blackburn ecc.), particolarmente apprezzate nella sfera live, senza per questo rinunciare a ballate melodiche con sonorità tipicamente inglesi.
La band ha all’attivo numerose date tra cui un’apparizione a Blackburn, cittadina inglese a nord di Manchester; da tale esperienza ha preso ispirazione e nome la canzone vincitrice come “miglior brano” del concorso provinciale Fanote, edizione 2009, che si svolge ogni anno a Fano (PU).
Tale concorso è il primo a cui i the woodlands partecipano con la nuova formazione: questo a conferma del valido repertorio a disposizione.
Il brano “forward” ha fatto da colonna sonora ad un noto programma trasmesso su Fano TV ed è influenzato maggiormente dalla sfera pop-indie; è stato inoltre inserito nella compilation “Tour de force” volume one della casa discografica di Oxford “Matchbox Recordings”, distribuita su Last fm, i-tunes e MTV 2.
Si parte così concretamente alla volta dell’Europa, con l’obiettivo di lasciare un profondo segno nel panorama musicale recente.


The band was officially born in october 2007 and it’s influenced by a lot of english bands that are basically characterized by indie-rock sonorities and by the 90’s Brit Pop.
In the last two years the band has worked hard to compose their songs, that represent an heterogeneous collection, but joined by the woodlands’ soul.
They play rock power songs (as Only coffee please, Welcome to Blackburn…), which are especially appreciated in the live show, but without giving up the sonorities of the english melodic ballads.
Among the different concerts the group has done, the appearance in Blackburn (an english small town not far from Manchester) stands out; this experience gave the inspiration and the name to that was the “best song” of the 2009 in the musical contest called Fanote, that takes place every year in Fano (PU)
This is the first musical contest the woodlands partecipated in with the new drummer: so this is a confirmation of the good repertoire.
You can also find the song “Forward”, more influenced by pop-indie (genre), inside “Tour the force” volume one compilation made by Matchbox Recordings, distribuited on Last fm, i-tunes and MTV2. At first the song was the soundtrack of a popular tv show passed on Fano tv, so a lot of people know it since this time.
Now it’s time to win over once Europe audience with the aim to become one of the most important band in the recent musical scene.
